"The choice to function on the love-centered motivational frequencies, where you are designed to function, is the only choice that brings freedom"
-- Excerpt from The Third Millennium, a channelled text by Ken Carey
The Full Moon this month lands on August 9th. This is the first full Moon after the cross quarter sabbat of Lammas, it is the Algonquin Sturgeon Moon, and it is located in the Vedic Nakshatra of Shravana, the listener. We are at the place in the year of first harvest, at the halfway point between the full brilliance of summer solstice, and the autumnal changes of the equinox.
This Full Moon, like all Moon phases, reveals the relationship between the energy of the Moon, and the energy of the Sun. The phases of the Moon show us where the Moon and the Sun are located relative to each other, via how much of the Sun's light shines onto the Moon's Earth-facing side. When the Sun and Moon are in the space place in the sky, she is backlit, we have a new Moon which reflects no light, and the Moon rises and sets with the Sun. They are together. This is the togetherness that begins something. As the Moon moves in orbit around the Earth, she swings around to gaze at the Sun, from the opposite side of the sky. She is beaming, fully illuminated by her dance partner, the Sun. This is the togetherness that has become something. There is balance and completeness. The points of alignment of the New Moon and Full Moon are extremely relational. These points are known as syzygy, a direct relationship between opposites in polarity.

On this full Moon on August 9th, we honor the fullness of completion of what has been rising up to be released. Starting on the next beginning Moon, the New Moon on August 23rd, we open the eclipse portal. The next full Moon, on September 7th is a lunar eclipse, and the new Moon following that on September 21st will be a solar eclipse, which is conjunct with the Autumnal Equinox. The Autumnal Equinox is the transition between the bright half of the year, and into the dark half. By the end of September, at the close of this eclipse portal, we will not be the same as we were when we stepped in. Something has been coming up to be released, and left behind. We can't take it where we're going.
There have been hurts throughout the lineage. Trauma in the bloodlines and in the collective energy. Our mothers, fathers, ancestors, the collective identities-- have experienced war, loss, poverty, hatred. They experienced the challenges of their era. And they were successful in facing those challenges. We stand on the shoulders of the souls of our ancestors who completed their missions in those lifetimes in their own perfect ways. We are not here to resurrect the burdens that they have laid to rest, as though we doubt the capacity of our soul family. We are here to trust in the work that those wise souls have done, and now step forward, off of the solid ground they have provided, and navigate new territory into ever increasing truth and freedom.
The relationship between the masculine and feminine that is exhibited in the phases of the Moon reflecting the Sun's light as they cycle towards and away from each other represents the relationship between masculine and feminine energies that are present in absolutely everything. This relationship between masculine and feminine energy in humanity has collective, historical, and personal baggage that would anchor us, when the call of this revolutionary time is not to be anchored, but to rise with the rising tide.
We can't keep carrying the weight of the pain between the masculine and the feminine. We can't keep believing in the rationality of holding fear, anger, unforgiveness, and lack of trust. In the safety of the solid work that our ancestors have completed, we have an opportunity to wipe away yet more of the filter of fear and anger from our eyes, and see into the present that can exist in rational trust. The feminine has good reason NOT to trust the masculine, from a historical perspective. The inverse is likely also true, however this focus is on the feminine's distrust in the masculine and the relevance to where we stand today. From a historical and lived experiential perspective, it may be rational to maintain protective barriers. This is absolutely sane, absolutely rational-- From a historical and experiential perspective.
But we inhibit what we can imagine of possibility, and we inhibit our creative capacity, when we prefer to hold, feel we have to hold, or can find no alternative to holding that rational barrier. I am not advocating irrationally releasing the barrier, because if the barrier IS irrational, then the threat is real and to release the blockade would be foolish. This is our fear, this is the fear of the feminine, that releasing our barrier would be foolish.
From an experiential, and historical perspective, releasing the feminine barrier against the masculine WOULD be foolish. But, from a creative potential perspective, the barrier ITSELF is foolish.
We simply can't operate in our highest potential when we erect barriers between ourselves; particularly when what we are preventing is creative magic itself. We are moving through an evolutionary opportunity, which requires conscious creation. Collaboration between masculine and feminine energies is a fundamentally alchemically creative action. The call is to create unprecedently from the potential that we HAVEN'T yet experienced, that we DON'T have a historical record of. There is infinitely more that is possible to create when we are running the frequencies of love. It is rational to believe this. It is rational to move towards this.
From this perspective, of participating in the evolution of our collective body, it is rational to consider the wisdom and rationality of choosing to set down the protective barriers the feminine has erected against the masculine. And to begin to wonder how that might be done. And perhaps most importantly, to begin to feel into and live in the lightness of "what if?" that can carry us into the sparkling unknown, beyond our history and into our creativity.
