The Red Witch

A witch, by my definition, is someone who knows themselves in feminine energy. The feminine is a way of knowing, as much as it is something to be known. She knows herself continuous with nature, and with all things. She knows herself as a powerful microcosm of the energy of creation. She can't help but breathe magic.
Witches are individuated awakened feminine energy.
There are many aspects of the feminine-- which you do know, intuitively. As part of creation, we all have access to these truths.
Everything and everyone has a womb center, and has direct access to feminine wisdom and feminine magic.
The Red Witch, is the embodiment of awakened Red Feminine energy. The Red Feminine is related to the Dark Feminine, which destroys the world, doulas the transition into death, and is the black void that contains absolutely infinite potential. The Dark Feminine and The Red Feminine are related as both more deeply occult aspects of the inherently occult feminine.
The word occult simply means hidden.
The mysteries of death, just like the interior of the womb, are hidden from the analytical light of awareness of the conscious, cerebral mind. Access to this deep level of feminine wisdom happens in the all-encompassing silence of the unseen. It exists without language, in mitochondria, fascia, in the womb, and the deep cerebellar brain. Both the observable and the occult are necessary, on all levels of reality. In fact, they need each other.
In 1801, the double slit experiment sought to explore the nature of light-- though what it reveals of darkness may be even more compelling. Scientists shined light onto a barrier with two slits cut into it, which would allow the light to pass through to make an impact on the back wall. When the experiment was observed, the light behaved as though it was comprised of particles, and the impact on the back wall reflects as much. Like a firing squad unleashing a stream of bullets onto the wall, the bullet-like particles pass through the two slits, and there are two lines against the back wall, where the bullet/light particles passed through unimpeded.
But when the observational equipment was turned off, and the light could operate in it's occult capacity, it behaved differently. The impression on the back wall after the unobserved experiment reveals a specific interference pattern. When the light passes through the two slits unobserved, it is as though an ocean wave with what reached the wall with two slits in it. Each of those slits in the wall will become it's own wave source as the energy passed through. Just like ripples in a pond, the two light sources create two waves that radiate out from the source in undulating circles.
When two waves reach each other, they behave in consistent ways, whether the waves are in water, or sound waves in the air, or frequencies throughout the universal energy field. When waves interact, they create a pattern of interference. Wherever the waves are in phase with each other, with the peak part of one wave lining up with the peak part of the other wave, they enhance each other, and make for a more powerful energy at that point. This is called constructive interference. When waves are out of phase with each other, with the peak of one wave aligning with the trough of the other wave, they form destructive interference, weakening the energy, and sometimes completely cancelling each other's energy out.
In the double slit experiment, the pattern that the unobserved light makes against the back wall is a wave interference pattern, with bands of increased light activity in the places where constructive interference occurred, and darker bands where the light waves emitting from the two slits cancelled each other out.
The double slit experiment revealed that light is a wave when allowed to exist unseen, and occult. This experiment was not just revelatory as to the nature of light, it also reveals not what is in the darkness per se, but how the darkness operates. The darkness is the unknown. We cannot know the unknown, or it would cease to be what it is. We don't know what the darkness is, but we know that reality operates differently in the unknown. The unknown is not simply more of the known, but just out of sight. The unknown is a different fabric entirely.
Human beings tend to fear what is unseen. We are afraid of the dark, the wavelike nature that is the feminine. When we are afraid of something, we tend to vilify it. So it has been with much of feminine energy, throughout much of known history. While some aspects of feminine energy are more acceptable, such as maternity, nurturance, or unconditional love, the aspects of the feminine that dwell in the unknown are the aspects of the feminine that are more taboo. Death, as is in Dark Feminine, and sex, in the Red Feminine.
We honor all aspects of the feminine and at the time of the Dark Moon, we draw inwards, feeling the deep power of the dark, and the occult. We go within to the darkness, and awaken what dwells there.
The Red Feminine is the aspect of feminine energy that is specifically sexual. Sexual, meaning:
Relational
Polar
Pleasurable
Creative
Relational
Relational is universally inevitable, from a certain perspective. Everything in existence is in relationship with every other thing. This is because everything is one. The paradox is we are one, and yet we are in interaction. The relationality of sexuality is the interplay between relating between different entities, and the conscious merging of differences into oneness. However, sexual oneness is always in dynamic movement. One always moves towards the other, infinitely moving into deeper oneness, without ever finishing the movement towards union. Asexual union is pure, absolute, static, perfect, and unchanging. But sexual union is always moving deeper into itself. The snake eats its tail. It is one, but there is also a relationship between snake head and snake tail.
Polar
It is the desire for the other, the one that is opposite from the self that creates movement, that creates vibration, that creates existence and all things. Desire moves from one into another. Polar interactions are like a magnet that spins, with the + always seeking to move towards the - and vice versa. Each end of the pole needs the other, and is inert and meaningless without the other. The masculine, particle aspect of beings and reality is always seeking the feminine, and the feminine is always drawing the masculine forward and deeper into her magic. She has infinite depths to be explored.
Pleasurable
Sexual energy is deeply pleasurable energy, because union is our home. Movement, the dynamic ebbing and flowing of the perpetual rise and fall around of the toroidal spin of polar movement is our natural state. We are that breath. The movement is literally the vibration that we are. And the more pleasure the feminine is able to feel, the deeper she is able to bloom. She holds the infinite treasure that he holds the key to. The unlocking and discovering of mutual capacity to discover more is infinitely satisfying.
Creative
It is the finding and sharing of this pleasure that creates all of reality. Sexuality is creativity. These energies do not just exist between people, it is flowing, sexually, within each atom, every rock and tree, and cloud. This is the electromagnetic movement and tension and engagement that is literally creating, recreating, interacting, and evolving existence.
We who are awakened to the reality that we are all one, that we are aspects of creator/creation, are here to create a new shared reality that exists in acknowledgment of these truths, not in denial of them. The resurrection of powerful feminine energy is required for this process, because the womb holds the potential to birth the new human, and the new world. In light of that requirement, we of the rising feminine attend to the aspects of her magic that are occult. We courageously dive into our own depths, finding the power that our own inhibitions, traumas, and shame have occluded. On that journey, we WILL encounter the pain, defensiveness, and hiding we all hold, as we are ALL culpable in perpetuating the suppression of the sacred feminine principle.
Are we ready to encounter our resistance? Encounter our rage, hurt, indignation, shame, and blame? Our victimhood and aggression against others and our same-self?
Let us lean into exploring the feminine magic, and trust that not only is she the goal, she is also the way.

The Sophia Unfolds Dark Moon Gathering: The Red Feminine.
This is a Dark Moon Gathering of Sophia Unfolds. Sophia is a primal name of the feminine principle. It is necessary for the feminine principle to rise and unfold at present, because dissociation from the feminine creates a disoriented and hungry world. We, who gather here, are aware of this. We are aware that there is a new world rising, and we understand that the feminine is the portal through which worlds, entities, and energies are created, uncreated, and recreated. The feminine is not rising to overthrow the masculine, that idea is rooted in war-based patriarchal hierarchies where only one sperm can prevail.
Rather than the particulate nature of reality, the limited, hyper-individualistic, and competitive patriarchal and colonialist reality we've been living in, where one particle has to displace the other particle in order to exist, we instead doula in the rise of the feminine, wave-like nature of reality, where the wave embraces the particles in her undying and abundant ebb and flow, and joins with other waves not to displace them, but to amplify and empower the shared tone.
We are here to intentionally usher in the rise of the feminine at this time, and at these gatherings, for the living good and harmonic truth of absolutely all.
At the dark moon, we have the opportunity to lean into this calling by exploring the dark aspects of the feminine energy, that so many of us have dissociated from across the generations, for self-preservation, or our own feelings of shame and disgust. And those feelings are rising to the surface these days, finally safe enough to even be felt. We are, in vulnerability, releasing our fear and shame of how the patriarchy and colonizer have indeed taken root within our own minds and bodies. Because we know how this story ends. It ends in the blazing triumph of unity, in eternal living love. I feel intimidated, or repulsed, or ashamed about aspects of the feminine as i've known them, that have been distorted or perverted, confused, redirected, or oppressed. These are the feelings we seek to hide from ourselves, because it is painful to admit that the oppression that antagonizes our freedom is sustained within.
But we are not here to fight. We are here to reclaim. When we explore into and awaken more and deeper aspects of the feminine energy which resides in all of us, we invite Sophia to unfold and assume her throne of sovereignty through us, as us, as we become the hands, hearts, words, and wombs that forge the Revolution, and birth the new world.
One of the darker, more taboo aspects of the feminine that we will be working with tonight, is the Red Feminine. The goddess energy of the Red Feminine is Shakti, Mary Magdalen, and the temple dancers. The priestesses who understood the powerful creative energy that is feminine sexual depth. It is literally what makes the world spin. The infinitely deep magnetic draw of the feminine energy is what inspires movement. Everything is spinning, from molecules to galaxies, and it is always moving towards her appeal.
Often at the time of Dark Moon, we consider the seeds that we intend to cultivate and bring to fruition during the coming lunar cycle. Tonight, we simply awaken to that magnetic power, and allow Shakti to draw it all into her infinite receptivity.
We will open sacred space with the grandmother song, to attune to the deep wisdom of our earth and our ancestors, and anchor us into the sacred here and now. Then we'll connect with this deeper aspect of the red feminine by working beyond language, tapping straight into the cerebellum, through rhythm and movement.
I'll begin by leading us in a Kundalini activation exercise, so we can tune into that powerful, creative, sexual feminine energy within.
Then Randall will guide us through some movements to help us bring that sacred red feminine into expression through our bodies.
Then we engage in practicing the dance, using the modality of sensual movement to access the deep undulating sensual power within, beyond the verbal mind, and while we do so, let us also bear witness to the divine creative sensual red feminine in each other. It is said that Shakti dances because Shiva watches, and Shiva watches because Shakti dances. Let us empower this Shakti rise by watching it rise and express in each other, in adoring celebration. We are all each other's mirror, and when we're working in the wave-like feminine energy, our witness and resonance increases the power manifold. We also have a mirror set up. Gazing at the sensual beauty expressed in the self can be vulnerable, intimidating, and empowering. We have set up some dress up masks, crowns, and veils to help facilitate the flow of juicy playful creative sensual shakti energy. There are little brushes for the lipstick, please do not double dip :-)
